Colorado’s 10th Mountain Division

During World War II, a group of skiers and mountaineers trained to fight the Germans in Italy. Colorado’s 10th Mountain Division was established in 1943 at Camp Hale in central Colorado near Leadville. They trained to fight in harsh terrain and the the 10th was sent to Italy at the end of 1944 to fight on some of the roughest terrain of the war.
Colonel Tom Duhs, USMC, ret. has co-written two books about Colorado’s 10th Mountain Division. The event poster with full description may be viewed here.
