Member’s Only Walking Tours in July

July 9, 2023 @ 10:00 am

As a benefit to being a member of the Palmer Lake Historical Society you are invited to join Jim Sawatzki, Telly Award Winner on a member’s only walking tour of historical Monument and Palmer Lake. Limit 30 guests per hike. We hope you can join us!

Jim was our Palmer Lake Historical Society’s 2022 president and is an award-winning director who has produced many historical videos about the Palmer Divide such as Star on Sundance, The Life & Times of General William Jackson Palmer and has led many historical tours throughout the years.

Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, hat, closed toe hiking shoes, snacks to eat along the walk and your favorite walking stick. In case of inclement weather (lightening or hail) we will reschedule. We want you to stay safe.

We hope you can join us for these tours designed especially for you. FREE for PLHS members. Please make your reservations by e-mailing us at plhssecretary01@gmail.com

Sunday, July 9, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM — Historic “Old Railroad Town” of Monument, CO

This was an easy walking tour just over one mile. We met at Limbach Park in Monument. This was an easy walk and great opportunity to learn about Monument’s history, its old train station, stock yards and hotels.
